Environmental Charter
I pledge on my honor to follow the rules of the environmental charter for the protection of our sea :
- I will not throw garbage such as plastic bags, batteries, cigarettes, cans and non biodegradable products on the beaches and into the sea.
- I will pick up waste.
- I will not empty the toilet tank or throw pollutants such as used oil into the sea.
- I will use recyclable paper bags or cloth bags instead of plastic on the beach and in boats. (Plastic bags are 60 % of the visible mass of waste that pollute the sea).
- I will alert local authorities if I am a witness of a 'organic' crime (discharges of illegal pollutants such as oil).
- I will bring on board products without packaging and will store the waste at the port.
- I will limit my fishing to the authorized species, sizes and dates and will give back to the sea the fishes out of standards.
- I will anchor on the sand rather than on the grass or rocks and will try to adopt the " Orin " method (system of linking the anchor rope to a buoy) which avoids the scraping caused by the anchor.
- If my fishing net falls or gets stuck, I will contact the nearest port to retrieve the net.
- I will encourage my peers to adopt "eco-citizen" attitudes.
